They arrived and look nice; however, the gentleman who took my order over the phone, ordered the wrong length. Funny since they guarantee orders placed over the phone will fit which is why i placed the phone order in the first place. Frustrated as I was hoping to have them on tomorrow for a trip I am taking next weekend. Pics delayed.

Here are some pictures. The mounting brackets did not impress me but the boards seem nice . The bolts are all zinc plated and at the right side angle, you can see them clear as day. I imagine once the weather is warmer, I will paint them black so they blend in. The boards sit a bit high as well for me, but for the rest of the family, they seem to be working, especially for the kids. The higher height of the boards will be nice as I do use my roof rack a fair amount so I wony have to stretch as much.

Few more...

Also, the bracket spacing, when using 3 per side, is not symmetrical, which is a bit irritating. When looking at other trucks, I see most factory boards have 2 or 3 brackets that are spaced evenly. I wonder if using Ford mounting brackets with after market boards might work as I think they would look nicer. Something I will look at down the road.

Yes, bolt up. I suppose if I wanted the center bracket center between the other two brackets, I could have drilled some holes, but I did not want to do that. The nice thing is that you can adjust the amount they are sticking out from the side of the truck. I have them set so I can utilize the entire surface when the doors are open. You could adjust it so maybe an inch or so less is sticking out. Haven't done it yet but may try later.

Hi All,
New here and looking to do a change out to fixed boards....
Hopefully not a dumb question, other than unplugging the motor, any thing else electrically that needs to be done? Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. I don't have an answer but I'm sure someone will be able to give you the proper instructions.

I had the so-called off-road package on my '07 and the running boards were similar to those shown above. The were steel and a PITA to keep the rust off them. Brackets soon became a haven for small road gravel to compliment the rust. Hopefully these are better.

I guess I'm a little confused. I removed the boards from our EXPY EL due to their narrow width which made my everyone feel uncomfortable when they got into the vehicle, feeling like they would slip off. Also, the left board had somehow been bent right where one would step getting into the vehicle. I'm assuming the PO must have been pretty hefty or something. I tried to straighten it out with a jack but with no luck. We prefer the look of the truck w/o the boards but I wasn't aware just how much the belly hung down which was covered so, thinking it would be easy, I have been on the hunt for some 'rock-rail' type 4" bars without much luck.

Extremistn09,

On the nerf bars shown above, I'm assuming you ordered for an F-150 for the EL? I guess I wasn't aware the hardware was the same and they interchanged. I tried doing a search based on your description but only came up with the F- series trucks.

I have a 2012 Limited that I took the power boards off after they failed. To replace with standard boards I purchased the IAT-412080 - Ionic 41 Series Stainless Running Boards from Real Truck wh0 guaranteed over the phone, on their site, and on the instructions, "no drill" installation. They sent bracket set IAT-3090 - 3090 - Ionic Running Board Brackets. Was told to put on 4 brackets per side but I can only get 2 per side to fit properly. The angled front section of the pinch weld / rocker panel presents a problem as well as the back middle area. Interested to learn what brackets you purchased that were "bolt on." Thanks.
