Hey Guys. New here, but have read a lot of threads on vacuum issues. I need someone to please post some photos of their vacuum line that goes from their heater control valve to its destination. I believe it may go through the firewall and other threads on here do not give a definitive answer. Also i would like a photo of the check valves near the battery. Any help would be nice. My Ac is defaulting to defrost and it doesnt get cold and it used to get pretty cold in there. Looking forward to photos. Thanks.

I just had a similar issue with AC defaulting to defrost and a p-code P0401. Ended up both were fixed with a replaced vacuum elbow. Not sure where exactly it was as my local shop fixed it for me while doing an oil change.

I might be able to shoot some pics later but in the meantime keep searching here on the forums - I know it's come up quite a bit and I remember seeing some pics not too long ago.

BTW, the line DOES go into the firewall just behind the battery (to the left of the computer).

The dreaded A/C to defroster issue turns out to be usually a hose or fitting as Brian stated. One of our members bought a reman dash Eatc unit that got him chillin again. Sadly you can't smoke the hoses in the heater/Ac like you can the motor. If yours is full auto, run the diagnostic procedure, its available online. We had a fleet of 2005-2010 crown Vic's at my taxi company that did same. The manual knob ones never acted up, just the auto ones.

If your expy has 4wd/AWD put it in awd and see if condition changes. If it does look for broken / cracked hose between front hubs or 4wd control valve and RH hub.
