info display too dim

Any way to make the info display brighter during daytime driving. Dimmer control works with head lights on, but with head lights off the info display is too dim and not adjustable with dimmer switch. Also the turn signal lights in the side view mirrors are very dim. Could the two issues be connected?

Dealer said they are working as designed but I do not believe Ford would design an info display that is hard to read during the daylight times.

I couldn’t agree more but I do think it’s just a bad design.

About 50% of my dash is useless in the daytime.

Just curious, your side mirror turn signals - when standing behind the vehicle, are they dim when flashing? They aren't designed for you to clearly see them from the drivers seat.

I've had pretty dark windows since day one, keep my moon roof cover closed, and can see my dashboard message center, with its very limited info, just fine.

The info display on mine is really dim as well as for the mirror lights you can't see him from the inside of the car but if you go out turn them on look out at them you'll be able to see them fine

Yes the side mirror LEDs are just fine when viewed from the rear. Thanks for the tip.

I had a 2007 and over time the info display got fainter and fainter such that I could only read easily at night. During the day it was nearly impossible - especially when driving.

I never had it looked at by my dealer since I never noticed it being so bad until after the warranty expired.

Probably a dumb question ... but has anyone checked the Owners Manual for how to set this?

Has anyone solved this problem? My 2013 is awful during day, the radio and instrument cluster are very dim. The HVAC rear control LEDS are bright.

If there is a way I don't know it, other than to buy a whole new dash console unit. Same for when bulbs illuminating gauges go out. To know if I am in 2W, 4A etc. I can just look at the switch. With tire and fuel warnings a bright little symbol appears above the window. Wish it was better but it's not a big deal compared to how much Ford got right on these things.

Fluorescent displays such as these lose brightness as the years pass. Replacement is the only cure.
