Hey yall,
So I have been reading up on if you can repair a radiator or does it have to be pulled and a new one put on. I have read where others have melted the plastic with a solder iron and covered the crack. I'm not 100% sure this would be the best way to go about it because the integrity of plastic will be compromised and thinned out. Does anyone have another fix or suggestions? Overall I have a feeling I will replace it but seeing other options first. Thanks !

New radiators aren't meant to be fixed used to be that you could sweat the tanks off the radiator pitch some of the tubes and solder them but now the best bet if you don't want to get stranded and overheat and possibly cause worse damage to your vehicle would be just to replace it

I knew a guy that didn't want to spend the $100 for a new radiator. Pulled it 3 - 4 times to apply his "goo". He finally did get it to seal for a month, then started leaking again.

Replace with a new one.

On top of replacing, if funds allow install one of the better aluminum ones. They cool better, and last way longer.
