Hi Guys

My ford expedition king ranch 2008 has thrown P420 code since two months now.
Today when I went for emission test, it passed it with the values (CO= 0 ppm, HC=1ppm).
Should I continue driving as it is or shall replace catalytic converter? Any thought please.....

FYI you shiuld have posed this in the 3rd gen section.

Your 08 has multiple cats so if you have access to an infrared thermometer you can measure temperature of the cats and compare. A bad cat will be significantly hotter than the other. Cats are very expensive so I wouldn't just throw a cat at it without doing a proper diagnosis first.

I dont feel any problem in driving, just only " check engine" light is on all the time which is a bit annoying.

Surprised you passed smog with a faulty cat. My '04 cats are in line, so when the first cat failed, it took out the second cat.
As gixer2000 suggested, cats can cost between $200 - 300 plus labor.
