how in the H am I supposed to get these coils/shocks out? I haven't seen any mention of using a spring compressor, but it seems like I'm about to have to go get one...HELP!

If i could get the lower control arm a 1/4" lower, then the tower would come out...Not real sure how I'd get it back together though...

In theory, you get the vehicle off the ground, and then just unbolt the top and bottom mounts. The whole strut+spring asdembpy should about fall out. Don't touch the center nut on the top mount.

If you look at the new assembly, the top has 3 bolts to mount it to the truck. The spring is already pre-compressed and installed, held in place by that center nut in top. Don't mess with that one.

Yeah, found the problem, I needed to release the brake and vacuum lines to relieve some tension. Now I'm having hell getting the upper control arm back in...Any suggestions?

Slip a pry bar through the control arm then into the spring. Pry the control arm down while you have the jack holding the lower arm up. You should also loosen the upper control arm bolts because the bushings resting place will be different amd you don't wanna kill the bushing early. Tighten them once the truck is on the ground

I used a rachet strap to help pull down on the upper control arm on my 2007.

My '14 was a nightmare. I ended up having some guys from my wifes shop do it. It took 2 guys on a 6' prybar. My '14 isn't like the installation in the instructions. The shocks are different.
