we can be driving down the road and the display, air, radio, phone just shuts off. Anythng that pertains to the display has no power, it goes off for abut a minute then comes back on. Have mentioned this before to th dealer to no avail, they tell me that they have to see it happen before they can do anything about it. Is anyone else having this problem with their 2017 Expedition?

I had an issue where the display, HVAC and radio never coming on after starting. I had my door open, closing the tail gate automatically and started the truck at the same time. Wasn't a big deal as I was only going 5 minutes down the road. Next time I started the truck everything was normal and never saw the problem again.

So 3 things.

Is your Sync 3 up to date?

Have you done the full reset on the unit from the menu?

Do you have any other add on devices installed, ie Dashcam, Radar Detector?

In almost two years I've seen the Sync system in my 2017 reboot itself two or three times. Nothing was plugged into the vehicle. Only a bluetooth connection with an iPhone. It's been rare enough that I just chalk it up to random bugs. I'm also not sure that Sync firmware v3.0 is more stable than v2.3. Loki, do you have any thoughts on that?

Yeah, periodic I wouldn’t be concerned. Say once every couple of months. It is a computer after all. If it is more regular than that, I would investigate further.

2.2 was Buggy, 2.3 stable. 3.0 has been pretty good in my opinion. Better than 2.2 for sure!

3.0 has had a few small revisions. The most recent is the best for sure. I recommend anybody on 2.3 to go to 3.0, just for the voice prompt improvements alone.

Just for clarity, Sync 3 v3.0? Sync 3 is the model and most recent flavor of Sync. V3.0 is the current version of that flavor.
