I just got my '17 Expy and would like to install a dual remote oil filter setup. Has anyone done this to their truck? I was curious about where the best location would be.

Nicely done!
Q: have you noticed any change in oil pressure; deduce you have a gauge?
Q1: Do you alternate when you change filters now, or both at once and an extended periodicity?
Last, have you ever considered adding magnets to the bottom of your filters?

Display only says “oil psi ok”.. I’d like to have a real gauge...
I’ll be changing both filters at the same time and will still do it before 5000 miles. I know some will disagree, but I won’t risk the longevity of the engine just to save $50 or so on an oil change.
I haven’t thought of using magnets, but it’s a good idea.

I bought and installed the single filter Derale remote mount kit, built a frame and mounted to the tab on the lower crossmember behind the radiator. Initially was going to use AN fittings and braided hose, but the fittings were too long to allow for the hose to be installed and attached properly without removing a bunch of parts, so I went back to the standard hoses and barbs. Worked well for a few weeks, but noticed a very slight leak from one of the plugs, so I got some brass fittings to change it out. Leak worsened despite re-do of the teflon tape, tightening more, etc. Lost over a quart of oil in a week trying to get it corrected. The position of the filter meant that the oil in the lines all drained out when you unscrewed it, meaning it really wasn't that much cleaner. So after two months of frustration and a few hundred dollars down the drain, I took it all off and am back to the original filter on the engine. I'll just work on a better method to catch the oil from the filter removal...

I get what you’re saying about the leaks. I went through three of the Jegs branded fittings before getting some from Phenix Industries. Aeroquip has been out of 90 degree fittings for awhile, so I had to settle for lesser quality. The Jegs fittings are made in China and are sub par for sure..
I think if you were to get stainless steel line and good A/N fittings you would be better off. Anything would be better than that Dixie cup oil filter that’s on it originally!

Cool mod. Although if you're changing oil at or before 5k and hopefully running a quality synthetic 5w30 oil, I don't see how this increases motor longevity any.......

I get my oil changed at the Ford dealer along with tire rotation and fluids check every 4-5k miles for $50 out the door. Keeps my garage floor clean and leaves a nice paper trail for any future warranty claims, and for the next owners peace of mind on such an expensive purchase.

Where is oil pressure measured, before or after filter?

Does this setup split flow to both filters in parallel or flow to one filter then the other in sequence?

I'd be interested to see an autopsy on both filters … whats in there after changing?
With a comparison to a dixie cup filter

Isn't there a screen at the oil pickup to screen out metal shavings?
