20" michelins anywhere near me 60 mile radius, run 205 to 216 per tire..that before a wide range of mount and balance fees, so want 12 some want 25 per tire...add in ridiculous 8.25 %tax, shop fees and excise taxes its 980 to 1000 depending on who is used.

yes 200 bucks for a tire is crazy...but i am not putting some 99 dollar bombs on my car...its hot here and we drive 80 mph.

EDIT: I have picked up more nails, screws and glass in the last two years than in the prior 26 years driving combined. Not sure why exactly.

4 tires + mounting and state fees and 8.25% sales tax - we are talking in the $800+ range for out the door prices.

TireRack - Dynapro is the cheapest on your list they have $172.95, let's you ship to installer, but doesn't provide price quote for installer so not actual OTD price.

TireBuyer.com - Hankook $162.95, Nexian $168.21 (but $80 instant savings on checkout so $148.21 per tire) - Cheapest installer in my zip code is $49 not including state recycle fee, and state disposal fee.

I think one difference we are seeing in this thread is comparing Out the Door prices with them mounted, balanced, road hazard warranty, tax and other government extortion vs. the tires alone.

Government extortion - So they charge a Tire Recycle fee that is supposed to fund recycling tires, but then also charge you a state fee for tire disposal. NOTE: Even if you take the tires home for your daughters art project, the state still requires the disposal fee.
