Morning all!

Update... Truck came back... Dealer resurfaced the rotors, 2 new front calipers and brakes.
Im still a little ehh about the brakes and wanted to bring it to my mechanic but he said since all that stuff was replaced drive it for a week to brake it in...
If you have trouble in a week then bring it by.
Maybe its just me lol

Anyway, here are some photos of the truck... Still not crazy about the rims and headlights but they are growing on me. I do want to get a set of oem rims just to change it up.

The rims wouldn't be my first choice for a truck, but I like them. I think the Anzo headlights look ok, but there have been a lot of complaints about them leaking and shorting out for those who haven't resealed them themselves.

Regarding the brakes, it's difficult to give input on them without driving the truck. The Ford OEM brakes are pretty decent despite being cheapo. Some of the aftermarket stuff has terrible brake feel. My wife has Raybestos Professionals all around on her sedan and I would never buy them again. From the day they went on they felt like they needed to be replaced. It was especially noticeably coming from the Mazda OEM brakes, which were smooth as butter. If your brakes are pulling to one side, however, then there's obviously a problem.

I’d ditch the rims for oem as well. If my 07’ didn’t have 170k on it I’d upgrade the rims. They are the factory 17s. But at this point and mileage I’m not spending money souping it up, I’d rather spend it on maintenance and upkeep.

Rims are OK, spray the ugly center caps with bedliner or plastidip or get Ford branded ones and it's all good

Anzos....do have a tendency to fog and to have the LEDs and rings go intermittent, alas. And the bowls eventually burn and get progressively weaker with HID

Should be able to quickly and easily Craigslist trade those wheels outright with an F150 owner. Its tough to get excited about most OEM Expedition wheels. F150 have a better selection and are much more plentiful.

Headlights would be first on my list though.

I have an 08 and I'm not happy with the brake feel. I installed new Ford calipers, rotors and pads and the brakes are still not what I like. You may want to drive another one to compare.

Theirs a recommended brake break in. Basically it's a real hard first 2 stops followed by 5 more easier stops. Google it, it may help bed in your new brakes.

I'm with Trainmaster, don't let dealer off hook. See, if anybody would read my posts, and believe some of it. You don't change just one caliper. I don't know the science part of it, but if you change just one caliper, or in early days, one wheel cylinder in a front drum brakes set up, they pull almost every time. Again don't know why, maybe a tighter fitting piston/bore or something. From day 1 back in early 70's, I was taught you change in pairs. Now you also see why time and again I recommend an outside of selling lot/dealer full inspection. They may or may not have caught this, but when I did safety inspections, I was taught to look for things like steering wheel pull, brake pull, brake noise/pulsating. Hope it turns out well, without too much issue. Ask the selling dealer what brand of caliper he's using, in case you have to match it if they refuse to do other side. Hopefully it won't come to that.

That's just because you're old. LOL..working on cars in the 70s. Geesh

Just kidding you.

I have heard that a good number or times, mainly from shops, dealers (when not warranty), and Napa guys. (here i go again with that Napa stuff . I better be carefull I alrady got chewed out on lincoln forum he he.)

Funny though if you are paying the bill at dealer...It needs both calipers and both rotors turned and both hoses....BUT it they are doing under warranty....you only need one. That's all.

I have had no issues replacing only one caliper when its messed up.
Now you have to check the other one as it often isn't very free on the pins.
This is where people get messed up with pulling.
I want to be able to move the caliper in and out on the pins with my hand very easily. That's how a new one is.

With drums, as long as you check both wheel cylinders and move both pistons in and out with finger pressure, adjust both sides and bleed both, I've not had any problem there either.
I think some people stick a new wheel cylinder on one side and bleed and adjust shoes and don't even pull the drum on the other side. That's more than likely going to not be even.

Might be a brake line or booster thing or something? My '12 Gator L has a much better feel than my '09 Expy SSV, despite being heavier and supposedly having the same size brakes
