I just went through the same thing at about the same mileage. If you're not going to spend the money I would pour in a good quality liquid head gasket magical elixir and get as much mileage as you can out of it. The fix could last you quite a while if you're not experiencing any other head gasket related symptoms.

But is your oil a milkshake? Don't condemn it completely just based on a very sensitive test kit.
If it has bad head gasket getting coolant into oil the oil on the dipstick will be high up and milkshake.
Also pop the drain plug out for 2 seconds and see what comes out or catch in a clear cup.
If it is brown oil you can drive a long time with no problems.
You are going to do the same amount of work or spend the same now or if you drive it 30K miles longer then do it...(either reman or used engine) and by that time it might be a better time replace vehicle.

The Blue Devil stop leak products are best I have used. Pour and go works about at well as the 1qt bottle or block seal and is on;y 34.99 vs 60+.
I can't recall if the qt one has to be with just water to install but the pour and go you just add to antifreeze that's in there BUT you HAVE to pour is SLOWLY over like 2 -3 minutes like they say. Then idle idle idle idle. Pull plug if you have a plug getting wet from badly blown one but this I bet is not your case.

Is it steaming out tailpipe like a blown HG does????
Sucking the coolant level down a lot???
Missing??

I'm a mixed bag so to speak. I prefer to repair things correctly the first time and be done with. But when an opportunity to try something new presents itself, sometimes I'll pull the trigger just to see if it works.

Take a look at this and see what you think:

I have no idea if it works but heck you may get lucky or buy enough time to find an engine in good shape.

Looks interesting but way overpriced!! Also when I see them say "if you have oil coolant cross contamination be sure to use the oil stop leak too" THAT is just GREED to sell more product.
If you have a HG leak and most likely coolant to oil cross contamination.....if you SEAL the HG leak...you don't need ANY oil stop leak...just an oil change or two.

Overpriced? The 60's and 70's are long over....

Price a gallon of automotive paint if you think that is bad.

He has only proven there are combustion gasses present in the cooling system. Yes that can be from a HG leak but it can also be from a cracked head or block. Either way, to repair correctly you put on a new HG.

Overpriced is relative term but you're correct the sixties and seventies are long over and automotive paint is really expensive. Thank goodness those chameleon colors went out of style. I think others have mentioned Band-Aid style repairs as opposed to fixing it correctly also. That just seems awfully expensive compared to other brands of block sealers that also have good reviews and can provide long-term results. I've only used three or four different kinds myself and nothing seems to be permanent but if you drive them easy sometimes you can get a good amount of time before having to do the real repair or as friends of mine did when I use the pour and go just traded it in after a couple weeks. But it was a daily driver and driveable up until that point.
Many things are a lot more expensive due to inflation but not everything has gone up in price. Some things are the same price. Some things are cheaper adjusted for inflation. And some things are actually cheaper than they were 20 30 years ago. Computer equipment and parts are dirt cheap compared to what they were. I can still get an orange for a quarter during the peak season. I buy milk now cheaper than I bought milk in 1990.
For those the quality is the same so the prices have come down. For the things like car parts where it's weird that things like alternators and starters have gone up in price but other things like sensors, valves, and things that are small and easy to make and ship from China, those prices are a lot cheaper. Now the quality can be quite a conundrum.
There are things today that the same company or similar companies are making the same or similar item they were 20 or 30 years ago and their costs have gone down due to automation or at worst their cost have risen very little but they are charging three and four times if not more what they did then simply because they can. This is called greed.
I'm not saying it's right or wrong I'm just pointing it out. I run at least two separate businesses and I also take advantage of charging what I can in one of those businesses. The other one I am dirt cheap and like half price. Just stating facts and pointing out anomalies in this world..
