My wife's 2011 EL won't come out of park. I took off the center cover and was able to push the plastic lock out of the way to get it home, but don't know how to fix the problem. I think there is a solenoid that is supposed to unlock it, but don't know where it is. Left it in neutral, but can't remove the key now.

Floor shift or column shift? I just went through this with a 2008 column shift and the part that has that plastic disk you have to move (brake interlock) is only attached with one screw (E4 inverted Torx head) and a clip. I took that out and then replaced the brake light switch. The old switch was bad and the new one was $8 at my local parts store. I'll put the interlock back in when the weather is better.

It turned out to be the brake light switch also. It is a floor shift. Sounds like it may be a common problem. My vehicle has 190k miles on it.
