I think it only affected the V10. I had two of them here at one time and one was affected by the recall. Here is some interesting reading except for the pathetic part about them worrying about some slight sexual innuendo and worrying about people seeing stuff the internet that they might not want to see. This ****** me off to no end. It's the internet! When you start this kind of crap you end up with censorship and everything else. Part of the reason that forms aggravate me. And yet it's on a Ford trucks forum which the F-150 forums are just as bad if not worse than the Mustang forums with people yelling and screaming and calling each other names with profanity and all kinds of other crude and rude remarks. People just need to get over it.

One of the main reasons I dropped off all the kids forums. I'd give the same sound advice that I do here, and get slammed time after time. Some kid, or tech genius that has to be king of the world. Your right Toby, the other forums just aren't worth my time and energy. I was wrenching on cars and trucks before these individuals were a sparkle in their daddy's drawers! I called the dealer about a dipstick Tsb or recall. He said their was none.

You probably did your VIN number and there probably is not one as I think it only applies to the 6.8 V10.
I was just using it to prove a point that the manufacturers don't always get it right. You can't just assume that when they build an engine and tell you to do something that it's going to be the right way forever or if it's even the right way right then.
All the people that had the different lengths dipstick on the 6.8 we're probably 3/8 to a half a quart over under but it probably didn't make any real difference. I don't really care what the manufacturer says as far as quarts to refill the engine. I'm going to fill it to the full mark. If I found out there was an issue and one was grossly overfilled at the full Mark and I do not have a proper dipstick then I would have to alter mine so when the correct amount of oil was in the engine it would still register full on the stick. I just can't do an oil change and only be 3/8 to halfway in the middle of the crosshatch safe area.

I remember only one motorcycle a Yamaha 750, I think around 1987 or so, that showed low on oil after the oil and filter change after putting in amount Yamaha stated both on the engine case, and in their repair manual. I over filled it by over a quart or more which I ended up having to drain off. It took over 20 minutes of running time to bring up to normal level. Where's its hiding is beyond me. Never had any vehicle since that one that did that.

Cruising at 75mph all of a sudden in the mountains of Tennessee two old trucks blow by me. I had to get the ole gal up there in mph’s to catch up to that old f150.
