Ok here goes..

I have an 07 expedition. A while ago the driver side door locks would only lock the doors but not unlock them. We could still use passenger side to lock and unlock as usual. Eventually passenger quit too. There is no clicking noises at all when trying any of the door locks and they dont lock or unlock at all. Oddly though, my key fob on car keys DOES lock and unlock them. Also the keyless entry on driver door locks and unlocks as well.
When I put vehicle in drive, the doors lock but park does not unlock them. I took driver door apart unhooked and rehooked the wire connector and there was no change. The window switch works but my power mirrors dont. I don't know if this is related to my issue or not?

I thought I would pick some brains to see if anyone can help me narrow down the issue or at least offer some insight into why some locking functions would work, while others dont.

Thank you!

Haley, looks like no one is going to step up so here's what I'd do. Theirs a full troubleshooting procedures in the repair CD. You might also get lucky online, but theirs about 5 or more possibilities, and we'd all be guessing, unless someone here had the exact same scenario. On my Suv, the rear doors open with the keypad, but not the front. Until I pull the door panels I use the chip key to open door. I'm a product of the 60's so keys were the only way to get in. Let us know what the tests show.

Sounds to me like the problem is in the driver door switch or the wiring that passes through the boot to the door. You'll need the schematic to follow exactly how the switch is wired to test it.

Haley can you read and understand schematics? We can send you a PDF of your wiring, well one of the others can. My cell phone belonged to Fred Flintstone, so that leaves me out!

I can TRY to read the schematics!! Lol

It might start helping me "understand" if x is working than b should also....

I'm thinking that if the key fob and keyless entry are working then it SHOULD mean that the lock actuator is ok. Right?

I also thought it's odd that they LOCK when put in drive but dont unlock when in park... that makes me wonder if it's an issue with something besides the driver door switch.

Edit: I just went and looked and I remembered incorrect! The doors originally unlocked when shut off, not put into park.

The automatic locking and unlocking is controlled by the computer and programmed through the message center. The way it works can be confusing but is covered in the owers' manual which you can find on-line. It's also adjustable through the message center or key switch, so don't be fooled if it's not working the way you should; it may just need to be configured using the message center.

But you are correct. If they lock and unlock automatically, the actuators are fine. The computer control is also probably fine; I've never heard of them having problems. I would speculate that the driver's door switch or the wiring going to the driver's door is where your problem lies, but it's expensive to throw a switch at it without better troubleshooting.

If you want to skip that schematic and testing stuff, look for a cheap driver door switch assembly at a junk yard or on ebay and give it a try, as that would be my first guess. I know that the drivers switch can fail in a way that prevents the other switch from working.

Last night I read up on the auto locking feature. Its been SO long since the dumb things worked correctly that I had forgotten the correct operation! I was thinking I would try to find a drivers door switch first and hope that it's the issue.

Your doing the easy way out, and it can be costly and frustrating. If your going that route, why not order it used off eBay with a 30 day return policy. That way if it's not your problem, your only out a few bucks postage to send it back. Make sure you mark your old one first. I have a bright yellow marker for just such a thing. Easiest way to find your part is to get it off the old one or from the dealer. Makes it way quicker. Most eBay posters include OEM part #.

Haha. Who dont choose the easy way out??!

Seriously though, "electrical wiring schematics" make me feel a little bit out of my league. It took half the day, 17 YouTube videos and dented knuckles to even get the door off! Roflol I'm doing my best though. I don't want to mess up anything.
The "door switch lock" I looked at was only 8$. Does this seem right? (Its the buttons basically and you plug in your wires) I figured if I bought that, plugged it into the wires and it didn't work still, I would have to then look at the wires next...

I think I figured out how to test the wires (I think!) That's what my next step would be if the button doesn't work.

Edit: door panel! I took the door panel off...not the whole door. Lol
