These off-brands you've never heard of are generally all made by a handful of manufacturers and China and then labeled with brand X for a nominal fee. If your heart is set on getting one, you can probably find the same product on eBay for less or you may even be able to get it right from Aliexpress. Personally, I would stick to Ford or another recognized name for something like this though.

Absolutely with ManUp on this. Unless your time is worthless, you don't want to do this job twice because of Chinese junk.

The plastic intake manifold on the Expeditions wasn't Ford's best idea, but theirs a reason why their plastic. It's a big job that requires precise torquing with a quality torque wrench. From most of the members here that went with anything but an original Ford part, either had a coolant leaker, a vacuum leaker, or replaced it completely with Ford. All those members with problems can't be a coincidence.

So... with as many members as this forum has, I'd sure like to hear from AT LEAST ONE that has had hands on with these, good OR bad, instead of believing a few nay-saying sheep that have zero experience with the products!

There are many registered members, but only a few hundred active members and even fewer that post regularly. In any case, there's no need for anyone to chime in here. There are a few buyers right on Amazon that have had some serious issues with them.

Does it really make any difference though? If you need an intake manifold and want to try your luck, go for it. It's your truck.

* FWIW, I'm not really seeing the point. The OEM is $40 more. $40 for a part you'll probably never have to replace again.

I see one in which the gasket failed early (which could be a part quality issue OR a poor cleaning/assembly job - but since he suggested, incorrectly, that the gaskets were permanently embedded I'm going to guess installation ). No other serious issues at all... a couple of guys who didn't like the screws that came with them. Whoop-de-do!

Also I find the Ford sourced units being twice the cost, not just $40 more.

Bummer about the small number of truly active members... it's surprising!
