EL models have different shoulder belts and hardware than regular (i.e. "shorty") models. Be sure to use the correct parts! I once saw a converted EL XL for sale where they installed shorty belts in the third row. This could lead to injury in the event of a crash and all the liability that might entail.

Do you have the cargo management panel that comes standard in EL models? There's also a rear storage compartment trim panel. Pics attached.

DON'T DO THIS! This EL truck has rear shoulder belts installed like a Shorty:

Note that seats and seatbelt hardware attachment is SAFETY CRITICAL. Use only Ford OEM factory screws, bolts, and hardware and follow factory guidelines when tightening screws and bolts. The diagrams posted above note some of the correct torque specs. Use a torque wrench and ensure all bolts are tightened to the exact values shown. Refer to the Factory Service Manual (FSM) for more detailed installation info.

No one in my 3rd row is using seat belt anyway. About only time anyone is there is if they are laying down taking a nap on a trip. That's why I am addicted to only having 3rd row SUVs or vans.
