I just posted about fixing visor, but I have another question.

Since my 2010 seems to have every single option (heated/cooled seats, power lift gate, DVD entertainment system, power 3rd row seat, backup camera, Eddie Bauer edition, ect) should it not have remote start?

My wife and I were surprised such a loaded vehicle would not have this. The dealer said the previous owner did not give them any other key fobs.

Is there a way to confirm if this vehicle has factory remote start and the previous owner forgot/lost the key fobs for it?

If this does not have factory remote start, is there a brand that any of you would recommend for one of those remote start units where you don't needs a seperate key fob, but just the factory one instead. I know that typically involves some sequence like holding lock or some unlock / lock sequence.

There was no "factory" remote start in 2010. It was a dealer-installed Code-Alarm option made by Voxx Electronics in Hauppauge, NY. There's a black box that ties to the harness under the steering wheel and a cable set that plugs into the harness. Ford carries model-specific packages with the proper harness plugs as accessories with Ford part numbers.

Remove the cover under the steering column and root around for a box about 5 x 7 inches tie-wrapped to the wiring. Or look for a bi-pole antenna glued to the top of the windshield behind the mirror.

Bi-Pole antenna? I have a black circular thing glued to the windshield behind the mirror. I just assumed it was for the satellite radio.

The reason I ask is because there is a hood switch on this. When we had remote start installed on our RAV4, they had to install a safety hood switch so someone could not accidently start the vehicle while it is being worked on.

This switch looks very, very similar to the one that was installed on my RAV4 with the remote starter. Here is a pic.....
