Somehow a small plastic bag got sucked into the intake above the blower and was restricting air intake. I dropped the blower and removed the bag. Problem solved. Removing the blower is awkward and a tight fit, but this 58 year old lady did it herself. It required moving the passenger seat all the way back and reclining it. I had to lie with my legs on the seatback in order to get my head that far under the dash to see the problem. Not the most graceful, but it worked!
