Programming buttons not working

I have a '17 Expy Ltd and love it. Today, however, while heading to a family outing I noticed my cruise buttons not working. Then I noticed the "up" button not working. Since I had started the vehicle by remote, I pulled over and did a hard restart. No help. I kept playing with it and finally the cruise could be turned on and the speed entered, however, the "pause/reset" button did not. Once you applied brakes you had to "set" the speed again. The "down" arrow worked on the menu and you could keep scrolling down until it went back to the top of the menu again. I just used the cruise a day or two ago and everything worked. I'm really puzzled.

My wife has told me multiple times that she couldn't get the cruse to set, and I've had the up button not work on me a couple of times.

24 hours later. Every thing seems to be working. Now I'm really puzzled and thinking it's some sort of software issue. I'll keep my eye on it for a while.

Spill coffee/soda etc over the steering wheel?

Good idea Jeff, but no spillage. I could understand that. However, I bought it used a year ago so maybe before I bought it something happened. Also another freak incident about a month ago. We were heading out to look at a house for sale in the boondocks. I was using gps and we were about 3/4 of the way there and the display locked and would not advance. No buttons did anything. I pulled over and turned vehicle off and back on. No change. We continued on and figured we could ask directions the rest of the way. All of a sudden the gps came back to life and brought me to the house. Sounds like a software issue to me. I hate to do a master reset but I may have to. I'm not sure what the Ford dealer would say, do and charge to resolve this.
