Went to the OXB from Memphis Tennessee last week 2050 round trip miles @20.9 mpg. Loved the trip and was more relaxed due to the space and auto drive goodies that any other trip I have ever made.

Did a stretch in Corolla looking for wild horses. BigBlue performed flawlessly on the soft sand with 22's. Just set the dial to sand. Even drove over the ocean barrier dune looking for trails but it was too wet on the sound side after the Hurricane. I was very impressed with the 4X because that was a major uphill climb with a turn at the top in soft sand.

Well Done Ford

I am not sure if this will work but here is a link to a drone shot of the beach.

Very cool video. We were at the OBX back in July this year. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore also has a lot of beach that is accessible by vehicles. Did you end up airing down? I aired down to 20 psi and everything went well for us.

OBX is a great place to visit. Ive been going there for 24 years now. We stay up in corolla. We always take the expy out on the beach. Went down to Hatteras one year for a fishing trip. Great place to drive and the beach and fish. 373,000 on the odometer and still not afraid to take it to remote places.

The sand was pretty hard near the surf but soft near the dune. Did not air down because of the 22" wheels. The manual says not to let out air in the sand!

Good to know!
I downloaded and read mine before I took delivery and I’ve referenced it many times since and I swear I still see stuff y’all post on here from it I never recall seeing! I have it loaded on the kindle app on my phone but I wish it had a better search feature.

Try the Adobe app if you have the manual in pdf.

I don’t but I’ll get it and go that route instead. Thanks for the tip!

edit: just finished downloading into adobe... THANK YOU! Way easier than how I’ve been using it.
