170 t stat successfully installed tonight while at work. 2 long hours start to finish and that’s with downloading and flashing my revised tune. So here it is:

Typically once engine warms up and you drive about 5 miles and let it idle, the ECT get to right about 216 degrees F when the fans kick on temperature drops. That’s at idle, pre install.

Completed install, topped off coolant since I lost a bunch, flashed the revised tune, turned it on, heat full blast and got it to 2800 rpm off idle in park. Temps got to about 178-182 and then I took it for a quick spin to get the temps up. Brought it back, parked it, was at 174. No heat, at idle, temps got to 190, fans kicked on (now 26 degrees sooner), and temps dropped back to 160-170s. I’m very happy and would recommend this to anyone with an aggressive tune that likes to have fun racing other cars and trucks in an SUV. I have also been advised doing this mod with no tune will do nothing as your factory fans will still not kick on until high 200 teens

It's gonna blow up tomorrow.

Good numbers, and good results.

I completely disagree with the Stock Statement.

Other EB’s have seen improvements even running Stock under load with the lower TStat. Sitting still, yes, because the fans are the only thing moving air across the radiator. Moving though is a whole other equation. Moving the cooler fluid that is being cooled via the air coming across the radiator sooner will give you benefit, just not as much as if the fans(Witch are RIDICULOUSLY loud on the EB 1-18’s) were coming on sooner.
