Hi fellas
not sure this is the right section but i couldn t find a "mechanic " advices one... so i post here.
I own an Expedition with the engine here mentioned in XLT trim (3.7).
Driving in the middle east now for about a year. Car is below 10K miles and under 3 yrs of life. Heavely modded tho, tyres , sunspension and some exterior kits. They call it Expedition Safari out here.
well, At low speeds lately seems not to like something,
1. RPM will drop to zero.
2. Accellerator won t do anything.
3. Oil Pressure will read 0 on gauge summary.
4. no lights whatsoever. Engine appears to be on, but won t respond to throttle commands.
5. Surge 1 - Switched the engine off, Restarted properly.
after 1 minute, surge 2 - Switched off, restarted, this time would keep on running properly.
was able to drive to the garage, 11 miles away after the second start attempt.
i usually display gears number on the information display, but drive constantly in D.
i make very large use of cruise control
I use this car for some offroad once a month may be.
this is as much info as i ve.
any ideas ? most common causes? experiences ?
