Hello,

My name is Sally and I just signed up today. I have gone on this forum many times to gain knowledge. I am the original owner of a 2000 Ford Expedition, Eddie Bauer 5.8L 4x4. She’s amazing and I want to keep her going. A little history, two years ago I obtained running boards from a salvage yard in Arizona (not from the northeast where I live!). They were an exact match and I had a Ford dealer remove old and replace. That went smoothly and reasonably. For years now I’ve had the infamous water leak. Had my original windshield 18 years and had that replaced. Noticed improvement and now have a leak again. Finally, took it to a place that water tested and it appears it’s leaking at drivers door from body weatherstripping which I just got oem from an ebay seller in its original Ford Motor Company box. It’s freezing today but I will put it on soon. My biggest challenge today is rocker panels. I am negotiating with a salvage yard and have secured two oems from a dark blue Expy same year (my truck is black). No big deal, they are in good shape and painted. Shipping is horrendous but I don’t want to cover - I want to replace. I have an auto body near me that’s family owned where I will have the work done. Someone mentioned a quote of $200 each rocker panel. Are those oem? Are they painted? Was shipping applicable? I’ve negotiated $575 shipped to me including rocker panels that again are painted just dirty. Based on many hours online, I believe this to be fair. Comments
welcome. Thank you.
