Protecting your rear end

With hitches tucked into the rear bumper there really isnt anything protecting the body from a fender bender turning into an expensive fix. What do you guys use to improve your odds? Trailer balls? Hitch spare mounts? Other? I need some ideas for my traffic commutes. Thanks.

My favorite movie, Predator. The wife had my buddy make this with his CNC Plasma table for my bday.

would it be out of line to floor it in reverse until that truck is in its own spot?

I wonder how stout those are, compared to a regular hitch ball? Love the design look and price is decent as well.

I like the hitch ball but also see promise in a pintle hook mount as the base for a couple square tubes or something.
