Hit the Outer Banks this weekend for some R&R. We camped out in the Expy and I was surprised to find it was perfectly comfortable. A full mattress/pillow top fits nice. Did a lot of beach driving etc.
I also installed a couple of the new sensor retainers. They weren't exactly plug and play, but it didn't take too much to get them to fit nicely.

Did you stay in the 4x4 area, or just take a drive up there? We stayed in the 4x4 area over Labor Day last year, and got out 3 days before the hurricane hit. On the way out, the ocean had already started to come ashore and there one part of the beach that was only about 8 feet wide, and it was wet.

We stayed up near the 4x4 area, but they don't "let" you stay on the beach unless you're awake etc. I can see how the area could get pretty hairy during a storm for sure.

I thought Ford was the only one that could program the Intelligent Access keys. Turns out I was wrong. I was able to have a second remote programmed by a general locksmith the other day. 1/2 the price of Ford... When I got home I programmed two additional spares I was holding on to. I hated only having one key. That would have been ugly had I lost or destroyed it somehow.

I never posted pictures of my catch can set up. If you are careful, you can slice the plastic tube off your factory connectors and easily attach a 1/2" rubber tube. I changed out the 90 degree fittings that came with the can for ones that are 1/4"x20 npt to 1/2" barb.
I also added a different drain. It was one for a compressor that moves the drain point so I can put a can under it easier.

I'm going to consolidate a couple of my other threads here:

Dual Battery thread: https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/second-battery-location.41390/

So far no luck on locating a good spot for the battery box. The closest thing I've found is behind the driver side rear wheel well. To make that work, I'll need to trim the bottom of the fender so I don't know if I'll do that or not. Two other options are: 1. behind the front bumper, on top of the frame in front of the stock battery. 2. Cut the floor under the moving shelf in the cargo area. I would need to box it in, but it doesn't look like it would be too bad a job.

Unfortunately I have to fit my rig into a secure sub-level parking garage several times a week, so that means a lift is out. With stock 22" wheels and tires, I just barely rub on two hanging pipes on my roof rack rails with the cross bars removed. I was going to remove the rails, but then realized that they actually act as protection for anything else low hanging that I don't catch. Even though I won't be able to go up, I still want to replace the useless factory tires when they're worn out with something decent. I think I decided on Nitto Terra Grappler G2s. 285/45R22. Same overall diameter, but infinitely better tread.

As far as my Expy "camping" thread goes, I created some black outs for privacy. I initially tried fabric, but you end up loosing all the shelf space and it just didn't work well. These pop in and pop out nicely. With these and a "twin" fold up bed with the legs modified for height, it's pretty comfortable. Nobody has a clue you're in there either which is nice.

Exhaust Mod: Switched to side exit exhaust

Here are a few pics of my exhaust mod. Removed the 15-17 resonator can and moved the rear exit to a side exit. Easy job and well worth it. No more exhaust in the face when you're loading the cargo area or attaching the trailer.
