Has anyone ever added USB ports near the 3rd row seats? If so how did you do it and where did you tap into for power? Looking to add them to my 2017 EL Limited for the long drive from michigan to florida in the spring.

Thanks

You should have a 12V outlet in the cargo area on the passenger side -- that and an USB extension cord/splitter/hub do the trick? Assuming for keeping devices charged, correct?

I haven't looked at 17 wiring but that's likely the easiest route. I'd just tap into that power as its unlikely you'll use the cargo 12v same time as the rear seat and shouldn't have to worry about blowing the fuse to that port. Use a female 12v plug, get your usb charger of choice, probably a dual outlet quick charge unit to work with most devices. There is a nice flush mount USB option available from PAC. Drill hole, it snaps into place. Looks more or less oem unless you choose to put it somewhere odd. Be mindful of where things may spill back there when determining placement. Entire install should be hidden this way minus the usb ports themselves

That's pretty neat. How would you hardwire the other end into the 12v wiring? I don't see anything by them that has open wires for a hard wire solution.

You splice in a 12v female plug. Inexpensive, fixed model in link below. You can probably order one cheaper but if you just want to hi het one and be done.

I have a thread hiding around here somewhere w my upgrades I'm doing to the '03. Planning to run 4 different groups of USB and 12v outlets throughout the vehicle and have wireless charging in a few places, as well as an inverter in the back. That's quite a bit more involved due to the power needed and how I want to control it but not overly difficult. Mostly just time consuming.

You can get 12 volt USB Ports on Ebay. I added one in our travel trailer comes with screw terminals or some have a short pigtail. They have many different setups, 1 port 2, also with cig style female plugs. You could also tap into the power rear seats

There's also an auxilliary relay box in the back of the truck, passenger side near the right tail lamp. You can access power here. Just be sure you know what circuit you're tapping.

Thanks for all the input. I would like to run the rear power outlet and have power to the USB ports at the same time as we plan to have a cooler running in the back. I will try the auxiliary relay box in the back for power.
