I have a 2010 Eddie Bauer that has the non navigation radio. My question is, could I swap it out with a used factory Ford navigation model without any other mods.

I can get a used one from the same year that has the Nav for under 200, I just wanted to know if it's a simple unplug the old and plug in the new.

No, you can't just swap radios.. You will need the amp and the radio harness.. Also there's a wire that goes to the module under the center console.. Watch the video...

The harness comes from the nav system when the truck is built.. Its a separate option so ford goes by what options the truck will have , so if its a simple cd/radio.. The wiring harness is pre-installed on the main harness, but if it has the nav/back up camera it needs a separate harness that controls the nav/back up... Also the antenna wire is even different...

Its a simple install if you have all the right harnesses and the antenna splitter

If you just want nav find an aftermarket that supports CarPlay or android auto. You'll probably spend the same or less and uabe considerably more usefulness. You'll need to find map updates that are surely to be not current for a factory nav. They're probably not cheap from a dealer if even available. Watch the deals and they pop up for decent ones in the 2-250 range and install is pretty straightforward.

The NAV radios cannot beat the cellphones. I have a Garmin GPS and an aftermarket NAV radio in my Expy. Neither one can compare with the GPS in my cell phone. I put the Garmin in a garage sale for $20 and nobody was interested. I don't even use the NAV in my Expy any more, just pull out my phone. I'm thinking of getting a dash mount for the phone now. Costs less than updating the NAV radio and the phone gets free updates.
