Hello,
I have had my 03 for about 3 years now. We got him at a really good deal and have put at least 65,000 miles on him. The past year it has been parked more then it has ran. Some of that id because I am a DIY and it takes me longer to finish the job. I have done upper and lower ball-joints and arms, plugs, boots EGR IAC and chased down several vacuum leaks. I just cleaned and refurbish the fuel injectors and replaced 2. He still isnt happy. I am getting the P0701 code at times. When the check engine light comes on it blinks when I am driving. I put a scanner in live frame and it said fuel system #2 OL Fault. Anyone had similar issues?
Is it time to retire old sparky with the amount of miles?

Any Suggestion welcomed
Thanks

I THINK that code is transmission related. You may have bumped a transmission connector boot loose upper or lower during your repairs. Make sure all 3 of the plugs on the PCM next to battery are seated correctly.
Hope this helps

Did you mean the P0171 bank too lean? Or was it in fact the P0701 transmission code? And how is your engine running now?

Open loop fault is a measure of protections against excessive amount of fuel being entered into your system via fuel trim percentages. If your o2 sensors, or MAF sensor are very bad then your system will be knocked into open loop status, which sets your fuel correction to it's default numbers. This protects the catalytic converters from unburned fuel being introduced to the exhaust, and

Depending on what tools you have, you'll need to address the codes and look at what you need to test, such as:

MAF sensor
Fuel System
02 sensor bank 2

If it is the transmission, then check out what that's all about.. riphip's advice sounds good for that code.

How old are the front O2 sensors ? And double check that code again to make sure it's actually a P0701.

If the code is P0171 bank too lean, try cleaning the mass air flow sensor with the CRC MAF sensor cleaner spray. I had to eventually replace my MAF sensor after getting this code several times. Also, inspect all your vacuum lines for leaks again (driver's side and passenger side).

Thank you for all your responses. I am going to get back to ole Sparky after I finish the work on our Honda. I have never replaced the MAF , o2 sensor since I have owned the truck. I think that will be what I try next. I will let you know as soon as I get back around to the truck. I have my sons Zx3 next as well...fun fun
