If you look at previous threads, you'll see that I recently did the upgrade on my 2016 to Sync 3.4. It's worth noting that this issue started for me prior to the upgrade, so I don't believe it's related; hence the new thread.

Anyone else using CarPlay have their phones randomly disconnect at times, then reconnect automatically? Mine happens a couple times a week, very annoying.

Attempted fixes so far...

- Replaced lightning cable
- Verified tight connections to the USB hub in the center console
- Hard reboot phone
- Master reset of SYNC
- Remove phone from CarPlay in SYNC and removed car from CarPlay settings on phone

I'm doing a full restore now on my iPhone to see if that resolves.

From what I understand, the CarPlay functionality is controlled totally by the phone. This leads me to believe it's definitely an iOS issue. It's also interesting that if I disable CarPlay and use SYNC's native player and bluetooth for phone, I have no issue.

iPhone is an 11 Pro Max running 13.3 general release.

You have done all the steps I would have asked you to do first, second, and most of 3rd!

One question, you said you replaced the cable. Generic, Brand Name, or Apple cable?

Also, do you have any other lightning based accessory’s like headphones? Thinking playing with those to see if they exhibit the same random disconnects? Maybe the connector is having issues?

Tried both USB ports on Hub? Same results? I assume based on the fact you have a 16 that you swapped the Hub? Was it a used part or Brand New?

Ahh, all good questions.

Replaced with Apple cable, taken from an OEM box.

Replaced the hub when the truck was purchased, it was a brand new part. Haven't yet tried a different port on the hub, that I will try.

I also did a full restore last night to the phone, no issues this morning on the drive in. Will report back.
