My 2019 XLT surges under light throttle , not noticeable under normal execration . been doing it since new , has 3,000 miles on it . not sure if it's the engine , trans or maybe a tire out of round . Anyone noticed this ? . My wife can feel it in passenger seat .

is It back and forth low frequency shake(like once per second)? It seems you are talking about the vibration due to early torque converter clutch engagement at low gears.

What I am talking about feels like manual transmission in high gear + low throttle, and is more noticeable with slight inclines.

OP isnt feeling a vibration its a surge. The surge happens upon accel, the tranny will shift, but instead of a linear change in gear lowering the engine power, it feels like a weird lurch where the engine is still "revving up" before finally cutting power. The surge is due to the transmission shifting when the torque increase hits. Mines used to do this mainly on cold starts but would stop once warmed up. No real way to stop it but once the tranny learns ur driving style, it will do this less.

I have one turn I take I my neighborhood where this happens. It’s a down hill left hand 90° turn where I’m slowing down on approach and let off the brake just after apex. I think the downhill is what causes it because of the increase in speed when releasing the brake... idk. It’s a weird feeling and quite unnerving the first several times. It only happens at this turn.

Sounds like poor programming; I’m not digging Fords decisions in this regard, especially the skip shifting. Heavily considering a tune from 5* just to clean up the shifting. I did notice it shifts better the harder you are on the gas, like it begs to be driven more like a car...

To the OP:

Is your truck 2wd? 4wd? 2 speed transfer case with 3.73 rear?

And what mode are you driving in when this occurs?

Try this test. Find a nice long steady uphill in a residential area where you can drive relatively slowly without traffic.
Put the tranny in “M”anual so you can feel what your drivetrain is doing without the transmission shifting on you.
Get up to 30 mph or so, and around 1800 rpm—whatever gear that may be. Just steadily cruise up the hill at a constant speed, in one gear, and listen— and feel for any surging or jerking.
Do the exact same test with it in 2wd, and in 4wd, and see if this is occurring in only one mode.
Obviously try to find a smooth well paved road for best results. The goal is a smooth steady pull, while putting a light load on your drivetrain (hence the long uphill).
Let us know what your results are :)

I think mine does this first start up in the morning when I would go from Reverse to Drive.

Now I back in and pull out forward in the mornings.
