So I noticed this weekend that once I installed the FX4 front skid plate that it completely blocked access to the oil filter from below unless I remove this skid plate EVERY time I change oil. Has anyone else came up with a good way to get around this?

I ended up saying f-it, I'm not removing that skid plate, so I reached in from the top and reached behind the radiator and swapped the filter from the top. I will say that I scratched my arms up from wrist to armpit, but I did get it done! :).

Any better solutions?

The FX4 skid plate I installed blocks the huge gap in front of the engine and right behind the radiator.

Interesting, I was looking at getting those skids but this doesn't sound like fun.

I use a extraction pump to change oil, on all my vehicles. Easy and quick.

How does this remove and install the oil filter? The oil filter access is my issue!
I put a ronin oil drain plug in it and the oil drains beautifully.....

I hand my key to the service advisor...

And then you HOPE they actually changed your filter. My neighbor used to work at a dealer and he told me they never changed the filters on the hard to access ones if they were short on time. He would throw the new filter in the garbage so the computer inventory didn't bust him. I'm sure this happens more often than guys want to believe!

I can change my own oil in the time it takes me to drive to my closest Ford dealer, and I know its done the way I want it done. Money aside, I simply don't trust people with my stuff if I can fix it myself. I know most people today don't want to mess with it and that's fine too....
