i am having problems with getting android auto the phone works fine but it doesnt show up on the sync 3 the phone is connected the to sync everything else works just not AA was thinking of doing a master reset oh and BT is enabled i cant figured why not working will the reset fix this and how much has to be redone afterwards

What year truck? Also, go to settings and about post the version of Sync, and the version number.
Example 2.2 17894 or 3.0 19205, it will always be listed as X.X XXXXX.

Just because you have Sync 3, does not mean you have 3.0. You can have Sync 3 2.2 17694.
If you haven’t done an update since it was new it is not at 3.0.

Somebody else with Sync 3 and Android Auto issues, Hmmmm. On my 16 it used to work, then 2 many people, Samsung, Ford??, Android, updated, "Things," now things don't work as they used to and everyone is pointing the finger at, That Company, They did it! Reminds me of the Windows 3.1 days! I am still trying to sort this out and I have a Samsung Galaxy S-8 which worked flawlessly through the USB port under the armrest, no full-motion video on the Sync 3 screen, feds still say no, cause we might watch T.V., and hit a tree! but Android Auto Worked Fine. Then the last round of Android updates came through, bout the same time as the Samsung updates, now the Mirror Link program seems to have been, put down, shall we say. The old instruction for using Android Auto on a Galaxy S-8, you had to umbilical it to the USB Port under the armrest. Once all that hitched up, you could turn the phones BT on and hitch that up to anything else, not Sync 3. You cant run Android Auto via the USB, and also connect to Sync-3 via the BT. Which is kind of not right, kind of silly not right, if you know what I mean. Are we trying to piss off the AI's!
Now that everyone is confused, calling me tanked and stupid! LOL! I am clueless as to what has happened, I can't get Android Auto to do diddly on Sync 3. It won't connect via Blue Tooth, it won't connect via USB, reliably anymore, it just kind of connects, like its toying with you, then GONE! And this weird death of Mirror Link, or at least a castration. Some of us do use Mirror Link, way, way, way, far away, from our Sync 3 equipped Fords. Suggestion to Samsung, Android, Ford leave it alone! Just because somebody out there, somewhere, figured out some useless Jailbreak code for Sync-3 Ford and Sony don't need to get their knickers in a knot with threats and stuff. Nope, was not me, I did not figure that stuff out, but somebody did something that Peoed Ford and Sony off. Now I know there are those of us that know what two buttons to push at the same time that gets the Sync-3 display to do things on the 3rd screen level. If you have not done it recently, do it, let me know if anything has changed from when you last fiddle with it. If I ever get time I need to write down all the crap that pops up behind door number 3! What is, SkyWarn? What is it there for? What does it do? Isn't EROS, er EOS, Nah, its EROS, or EORS, isn't that a weather satellite? All suspishious, very suspishious!
