Just as the post title says....cracked my driver's side tail light assembly and the cheapest replacement I see online is over $700. That is crazy, my 2016 Expy the same part was less than $100. Does this price sound right?

That’s it? You’d think they could get $1,000 per light these days. They are giving them away imo.

That one is is for the xlt, (non-led) doesn't match the Limited and Platinum. I did think about downgrading from led for a minute but I'd have to do both...

Unfortunately, yes, that’s the way these high end lighting elements go these days. A Volvo headlight is $2200. Here’s a tongue-in-cheek article that discusses it:

https://jalopnik.com/headlights-are-too-damn-expensive-but-i-have-a-solution-1794231519

Now that lighting is a design element and not just a blinky, flashy, shiny thing, they are vastly more expensive, especially if they integrate BLISS or something similar.

A lot of it is due to being a low volume auto with little to no aftermarket support being due to again, low volume. Look at how cheap the LED taillights and headlights are for the F-150 in comparison. Lots more aftermarket availability and volume to sell cheaper even via oem.

JEx, that was the one! You saved me at least $300 and I truly appreciate it! Makes me a a little less p*ssed at myself for deciding to back down my driveway in the first snow we've had in a few years. Now just a few scratches to get buffed out. Thanks again!

As a side note, now that I know how much they cost I think it is even more unacceptable that they fog up with condensation after a hard rain.
