Sorry I was talking about the 2017-2020 f150 trans causing supposedly whiplash and the Ford Focus that had lunging trans issues. I just didn’t wanna bring into this forum

What does a Transmission have to do with Spark Plugs?

I appreciate your apology, but again I ask, please put down the phone and walk away.

Nope. Not a dog. Just using similar tactics I use for training. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Sorry. No insult meant by it. Just calling it as I see it.

You came in to a thread that had already gone off the rails and made it worse.

You made a comment about dangerous situations caused by Motors? Then mention transmissions...that aren’t even in the Expedition generation where this Post is.

All because somebody spouted off some drivel about China and stealing intellectual property...which by the way wasn’t completely wrong(There are WHOLE cars in China that are copies of other manufacturers). Is it just a China thing? Nope. Do the fake plugs and the right plugs both probably come from China, most likely yes.

I won’t be replying to your comments in this thread anymore unless they are actually Spark Plug related.

Bottom line...and I say it again.

Put the phone down and step away.

Loki you may not realize but you may have made a great point! The country of origin is something to check for on the boxes. The SP-546 is made via Honeywell’s spark plug facility in Mexico. Last I knew the SP-509 was Japan, and I believe the SP-543 is Japan as well. I will try and verify this information.

Look at that! Blind Squirrel and all!

I solve it by paying a little more and getting them from vendor that I know verifies they are correct before sending them to me. He also gaps them how they need to be. Saves me a step!

Thanks J for the Post. The Spark plug discussion in here is excellent!

The Motorcraft spark plugs made by Honeywell for earlier 3rd gens are made in one of their two facilities in Northern Ohio or Mexico it says (F-150 thread where they contacted the maker). So the country of origins for the Honeywell based MotorCraft plugs are USA or Mexico on the boxes. I’m not sure who makes the 509 and 542 and I’m looking into it but coming up dry.

I have a box of SP542’s in my Garage. I will take a look at those when I get home this evening!

It looks like the newer 5.4 and 3.5 plugs are made by NGK so I’m guessing they will say Japan but we shall see! We await your box!
