Loki you may not realize but you may have made a great point! The country of origin is something to check for on the boxes. The SP-546 is made via Honeywell’s spark plug facility in Mexico. Last I knew the SP-509 was Japan, and I believe the SP-543 is Japan as well.
The Motorcraft spark plugs made by Honeywell for earlier 3rd gens are made in one of their two facilities in Northern Ohio or Mexico it says. So the country of origins for the Honeywell based MotorCraft plugs are USA or Mexico on the boxes. I’m not sure who makes the 509 and 543 and I’m looking into it but coming up dry.
I have a box of SP542’s in my Garage. I will take a look at those when I get home this evening!
