Oh and forgot one other thing[emoji58]

The steering was binding at certain points. Well, it felt like binding or that the power steering pump was quitting intermittently.

Couldn’t really pin point the issue. It fooled me into thinking that the pump was failing. So after I had finally fixed the A/C this was happening and I replaced the power steering pump. NOPE!!! It was the steering shaft from the firewall to the power steering rack. It would “bind” at certain points. Because the U-Joints were failing. As a temporary fix I read someone putting penetrating oil at the joints and solving the issue until they replaced the shaft.

Bought the shaft and haven’t replaced it yet. But no binding since I sprayed a couple months ago. More like soaked overnight then sprayed again the following day.

It's common for those shafts to bind, some people replace the pump and the rack before finding it. What year is that and is the rear air suspension optional. My 07 Navi came with all springs a month ago but I don't know if they were converted from air.

$1200 just for the chain and phaser parts? Are they OEM? Also, did you bring an obd II scanner? Why didn't you just replace that one coil? My stock coils work fine on my Ex at 200k.

It’s a 2007.

The parts are OEM and the oil pump is an upgrade recommended to me by a ford master technician.

And I replaced all the coils cause I was on the road and yes I could’ve replaced the one and been fine. But I didn’t want to take the chance that another failed.

And the air suspension is factory in the rear. One Limited edition and some Eddie Bauer’s it comes with air ride stock.

As for yours with coils it sounds like someone converted it to standard coil suspension. That really is the way to go. Hindsight I wish I had changed them over.

But doesn't it ride worse with the coils and was the air ride optional in the rear only in '07 and later? (I know they were all around in earlier models). Someone in another forum converted to all springs and then changed them all back to air.

I would say worse. I would say it isn’t as smooth. But it’s a good alternative because the repair on these suckers is awful and trying to convert it back would be a mess and probably quite the expense.

My new to me Navi I bought a month ago was converted to springs so I guess I will have to live with it.

Replaced the lower control arms over the past two days[emoji51][emoji19][emoji35]

One bolt in each of the control arms that mounts to the frame had rusted in place. Still fighting the previous owners decision to take it to the Beach[emoji35][emoji2959]

But with a torch from autozone and lots of PB Blaster I got the bolts out!! Good thing too because they run $200each!!

Now onto fixing the exhaust[emoji19][emoji17][emoji3064][emoji22]
