I agree most diesel oils would be overkill and pretty much said that above....

You keep doing it your way...all good. Mine average between 5 and 7K using the sensor, because of short trips and idling(Remote Start).

I have oil changes for free at the dealer for the life as long as I own it. So I take it in when it says it needs it. Pretty simple. I could do it myself, but they do it for free, wash it, vacuum it, and rotate the tires. No brainer for me.

Never liked the captain chairs in the 2nd row either. Had to look for a while to find my 15 limited without the captains chairs and the other bells and whistles I wanted.

When the 15 was totaled we were damn lucky to find the 17 with basically the same options. Wife loves it, and I don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon!

The whole Rotella subject came up a couple pages back w comments about oil for flat tappet motors. Some idiots comment wo reading or being aware of the context.

Diesel engine oils have more zinc which is important to prevent sheer w flat tappet motors. ZDDP is the additive as well as having more cleaning additives.

Again, only relevant to flat tappet motors and a previous comment.

Rotella is excellent oil to use in many modern gasoline engines.

Obviously you know everything about oil and have determined you know the best way to deal with oil type/brand/weight/classification/changes....

Yous could have just said..."I never knew diesel oils were good for gas engines" and learned something instead of continually trying to shoot down any other comments that don't agree with yours s being wrong, or overkill, cumbersome, waste of time etc.

I know very little about diesels so therefore I don't really like them. I stay away from them because not my wheelhouse.
Most info given about diesels would be a learning time for me since I know very little about them to start with.

Not afraid to admit it. But back to oil....Rotella and diesel oils jsut fine and some even better for gas engines...Just accept it and move on.

People on here who don't want mis-information spread. They care.

Plenty of people know exactly what's in any oil you want to choose. Plenty of data sheets available and independent lab analysis or virgin oils.

We also talk about escalades and Navigators on here...even mustangs and corvettes. Yet it's not a GM or car/performance car forum.

Still incorrect. Have you not looked at Blackstone lab report for a virgin sample of motor oil??
I know it's easy and simple just to say stick with a gasoline oil which is fine and a good preference but please quit posting like there is something wrong with doing so just because you don't choose to do it.
