Repaced 3 the first year. Oil leak near tire is a common sign.

I have an engine coolant leak that the dealer can not find. They have replaced the water pump, most hoses, and the coolant valve.

Only leak intermittent and right not i am just keeping a watch on it.

If they say FoMoCo, REPLACE. And upgrade to at least Monroe. Bilstein's if you like firm up and down. Monroe's eliminate most of the parade float but not all. Bisteins my fav.

Spongy steer for the front...but yes, you can look at them and see the oil leaking. I’m having all 4 replaced today due to leaking and I have 38k. Here’s a pic:

As others have said, you can see oil on the body of the strut body or on the ground. For me what I noticed first was clunking in the front suspension when I would slowly go over very large speed bumps. You can crack the steering wheel all the way to either direction and check the struts.
This is how I noticed mine first the small puddle then the clunk. Went to the dealer they said all 4 where bad and replaced them all(took about 3 weeks to get them). Mine only had 6.7k on it when this happened but it was a year old. When they did replace them it looked like they did the whole assembly cause I now have shinny springs.
