That's a steaming pile of garbage.

Thanks for the heads-up. I may just sand these pitted lenses down to make them look good again and throw some halogens back in there. I have several other projects I need to complete before we move so I'll have to wait on projectors. I wouldn't mind trying it down the road so I'll keep your advice in mind. Thanks.

So I replaced the headlight bulbs with LED light from Beamtech.

Made sure they were flat LED that mimicked the halogen filament locations. As shown in the pics they have a nice pattern, good cutoff and no noticible bleed. Much brighter but not obnoxious. Didn't get any flashing lights from oncoming traffic. You can see the beam pattern on the school building pics, hi and low beamsIMG_20200328_200506.jpg IMG_20200328_200641.jpg IMG_20200328_200921.jpg IMG_20200328_200915.jpg . This is from about 40 feet away from the wall. Also changed out the fog lights with amber/yellow LED fogs. Yellow works better in fog then white. Not sure why everyone got away from them. Here are the one I put in.

NO LED flicker from any of the lights installed.

That doesn't look bad at all to my untrained eye. Are these still your stock headlight housings?

I know the Expys don't use them but on the Navi's the bluer the HID xenon bulb the less powerful they are. These people that get the blue (above 5000 kelvin temp) ones think they look cool but they are only annoying others and cutting their visibility down. I got two 5000k bulbs online for $15 since one was out and sold the old stock 4300k one for $15 while the dealers wanted $300+- for them. They have been working fine for a month and I doubt if they will give any problems. Blue light scatters sooner which is why sunsets are yellow (but that's another program).

It's 6000k where you have 90% white and 10% blue. More than that is a problem. 5k-6k is perfect. the 6500 ones are where the blue really starts.

Anything higher than 4300 goes to white and then to blue. Mine are now 5000k and I can see a hint of blue so 6000k would be way too blue to me. Stock is 4300k because it it the least offending light.

Finally getting around to replacing my headlights. Any suggestion on direct replacement LED or HID complete lights?

Steve

So I bought the auxito dual headlight set for my 17 expy and love them. Here is the link. I also bought SOCAL switchbacks cut the plugs off and bought the correct plugs for my front turnsignals.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions that you have about the lights. I am more than willing to help and or guide you through the switchbacks if you end up doing them. AND the socal switchbacks have resistors built in so you don't have to worry about hyperflashing which is nice. The only thing is if your expedition is originally a candian vehicle there is the possibility that the front turn signals are the Daytime Running Light which will kill the resistors - you would have to reprogram the body control module using forscan to fix that. Please contact me regarding any questions or concerns.
