Yes I was trying to relay that. I figured if one control arm went the opposite side is probably close also, so I did both. I have terrible luck, and decided if I just do the control arms a few months later a strut will start leaking. It was easier to talk myself into preventative maintenance or "making the truck better". I found after 10 years and 145K miles the springs and struts seemed fine compared to the new. IMO
Another problem is; unless you are the original owner you usually don't know what was done. I just bought a truck a month+ ago and it was on consignment at a car lot (got super deal) but I never even saw the seller. I don't even know if it has the new style spark plugs in it, or if they replaced the phasers this year, etc.

Hi OP
i replaced my struts with Monroe quick struts. Cheap and do the job well. I drive on-road only and the ride is comfortable.

Hi everyone thanks for the comments. I see a lot of people asking if the truck even needs struts. Short answer our roads are some of the worst in the country. So I've been able to tell that they aren't what they used to be. Also the breaks are about to be replaced and its in need of the basic service I've also seen quite a few owners switching to the 5100s so I figured I might try and tackle a few things all at once. If not atleast I have the knowledge for future reference.
