swapping seats from a 2005 navigator into my 1997 f150

truck has power driver and manual passenger seat factory.

the new seats are heated and cooled. i grabbed about 2ft of wiring from under the carpet of the navigator. does anybody have a write up or wiring diagram for the seats or my truck?

If the ‘05 Navigator is anything like the 3rd gens the climate controlled seats are all CANBUS controlled and run through the HVAC Module. I’m not sure you’ll get them to function but maybe you can power them directly somehow with a relay or something. I’m not an expert when it comes to electrical but I do know at least on the 07+ they are in the CAN network which complicates things.

Pretty sure there is still a CCSM that handles it all through the bus in some manner. I haven't dug into that wiring and not being at work for a few I'm cut off from those resources. I know the expedition does so logic would dictate the navigator does as well.

they do use a ccsm mounted to the driver seat. i have power to the passenger seat to adjust everything but not for the heating and cooling.

however i cant figer out how to do the same for the driver side. if i remember correctly dont alot of the wires from the driver side have to connect to the passenger seat?

Movement likely isn't ran through the CCSM, just for heat/cool and perhaps seat memory.

I have no idea on the wiring. No access to anything at the moment. Annoyed because I was going to install a remote start and trying to figure out auxiliary triggers to be able to controm heat or cooled seats by remote but I need the wiring diagrams for that.

Hi Glenn, keep us updated. I have the opportunity to buy 2009 front seats to replace the BADLY worn seats in my 2006 Expedition. The CANBUS conundrum has me nervous, though. They're a marketplace item, so I'm nervous they'll "get away" but I don't want to waste the money if they're not going to work correctly.

Have you checked eBay for your stock seat coverings? They sell new oem style leather seat bottoms and backs for the 2nd gens on there to replace worn seat leather skins. If I had a 2nd gen or any auto with worn seats this is the route I’d take because when you get it done it will match the rest of the truck. Most times I’d bet you only need the seat bottoms anyway.
