Well, have my second ecoboost Expedition, 2015, and now 2018. The 15 had great power and was smooth. The 18 skip and bucks. After each gear it feels like it skips, and when accelerating hard while holding any gear, it has a slight bump. Wife can't feel it. Dealer says no issue found. Is this a charachteristic of the 10 speed? I can't find anything about it. I am wondering if tuning will take the issue. I seem to get the best info from the forums.

I noticed the same in my '19. It's slight and annoying but doesn't seem to be dangerous.

The truck has ~6k miles. I'm not bothering taking it in unless it gets worse because there's no way the local Ford franchises will want to deal with it.

I’m not overly thrilled with the 10 speed either. I liked it in the rental mustang GT I drove before this beer virus crap, but it seemed to be tuned differently. That or it was “worn in”. I’ve got 5K on mine and it feels clunky and in a rush to upshift. I hate the 3-5 skip shift as well. I’ve considered a tune just to tinker with the shifting. I did the same to my Grand Cherokee before this and had great results.

Have you unplugged your battery yet. Doing this will restart the adaption feature on the tranny. Itll be rough a bit but you can make it relearn itself. By driving it smoother, the tranny should follow and make the shifts smoother.

Odd, my 19 has 7K miles and it's been nothing but silky smooth shifting, whether under hard acceleration or normal operation.

My 18 shifts super smooth and no clunks, no bangs, no jerks, etc. It does skip gear often, but if the power demand isn't there, so its the right thing to do...

Mine does the bucking at slow speed driving , If I drive harder it works great . Also when putting it in R from P the engine will race then trans will engage with a bang . Had it to dealer at 5,000 & was told NO PROBLEM FOUND .

My 18 might behave the way you describe sometimes pulling out of my driveway with the engine sitting overnight. However this goes away after a couple minutes.
I agree with the comment to disconnect the battery so the transmission Can re-learn. Also suggest not changing transmission from reverse to drive until you have completely stopped. If you get in the habit of shifting from reverse to drive while vehicle is still moving, I have noticed jerky shifting I think this has something to do with the learning function of the tranny.
