I was pretty active on here a couple years back with my 2017 Limited EL which I loved but I found myself needing a truck at the time so I had to move on. Went through a couple different rides since then and found my way back to a 14 Limited. Pretty stoked about it as its got all the bells and whistles, certified pre owned. Having never had a 5.4 I must say the difference between it and the Ecoboost is night and day. The 5.4 leaves much to be desired. With that said Ive already dropped in a K&N and a Borla exhaust. I ordered a tuner today from Stage 3 Motorsports to hopefully wake this thing up a bit.
Look forward to mixing it up with you guys a little bit going forward

Got the tuner last night and installed the canned 87 tune. It made quite a difference. Doesn’t feel as lethargic anymore.

Welcome back, the lazy gas pedal effect is the slow reacting drive by wire in these years...pedal commander or tune take care of it most say and make it responsive like having an old fashioned throttle cable.

Welcome back. What gears are in your 14? Maybe step up the ratio to 4.10’s or something close if you’re tuner isn’t cutting it for you. I changed front and rear axle ratio’s from 3.54 to 4.10 on my 95 351W F150 and it made a world of difference. It also gets better fuel mileage now believe it or not (it runs in its power band more instead of struggling to muster up some guts).I also upgraded to a locker in the front and changed out the open carrier in the rear to a limited slip carrier. That truck really needed help because of the crazy ratio gaps between 1st and 2nd gear in the E4OD. It was the best improvement I’ve made on the truck for sure. It also is a beast off road now with the locker up front and traction lok in the back.

I put a cheap Eitter Pedal Commander on my 2011 and what a difference. Its a little jumpy starting out but its a really cheap alternative to a lot of them out there. It has like 29 different settings and I have my set very low. Turn it up when I'm on a 2 lane, wanting to pass. Turn it off in a parking lot.

How do you tune an expedition? Curious. Sounds like there's some hidden power that tuning unleashes.
