Both the driver and passenger sun visors are not staying up/down properly. Something seems to have come apart inside because there are loose parts and a bulge under the fabric. Is there a way to open them up to see if it can be repaired, are there internal parts available, or does the entire thing need replaced? Thanks.

I replaced the complete driver's visor twice on my '07 as it wouldn't remain up. Found used parts since Ford wanted my first born for the visor with the garage door buttons.

After getting the replacement I cut open the original and pulled out the garage door button module which now resides under the dash of my Honda roadster. Didn't see anyway to repair the visor.

I had the same issue in my 2009. No way to fix it. Mine physically broke and then came through the fabric. Got a really clean set at the local pick and pull for $20 that included the garage remote. Just FYI, I put a set of 2006 visors in my 2009. The visors are slightly larger top to bottom but the same side to side and contoured to fit the center overhead console. Also the vanity mirrors are larger and have two mirrors vice one. Plug and play and I like the size better.

I had the same issue with the driver's side visor in my 2011 Ltd. I finally had to just pull it off the mounting bar on a road trip for sanity's sake, and it FUBAR'd all of the other interior lights (some come on when they are supposed to (opening doors, ignition, etc.), some only come on when dialing the dimmer switch all the way or using a discrete switch). Was advised that visor has to be replaced when the tension between the bar and the visor gives up the ghost. Quote to replace with OEM was $500+, so I've learned to live with it and the wonky interior light functioning. For now, anyway ...
