I don't believe in slots or holes but you couldn't pay me to use ceramic pads.

There's more to add about ceramic pads and heavier vehicles. Some smaller insurance companies might deny your front end collision claim if they find ceramic pads in your truck. Happened to a neighbor when I used to live in DC/NoVA area. The small insurance company was based out of NoVA also. They did pay up after months long litigation though.

Directional like tires. Doesnt surprise me the box looks like that. It's way too much weight for what it is. Should be double wall at the least. I'm sure driver tumble and kick them around too, I doubt many tey to pick that up properly, I know I wouldn't if I did that all day long.

I really need to open the boxes, I didnt even consider them shipping 2 of the same since it appeared to be a packaged kit. I'm leaving for Tennessee Monday so I have little extra time for an alternative. I guess I have too much faith in companies putting the correct items in a box.

Ford's Motorcraft OEM brake pads that are ceramic, made in USA.

Ceramics have a low friction coefficient and even worse when they are cold especially in snow country. They are easier on the drums, last longer, whisper quiet, plus the dust wisps away and is a lighter color. I won't run them.

That's because they don't want any complaints about brake dust, longevity, and noise. They figure they stop good enough and nobody will know the difference...............just my guess.

I agree. It's about new car customer satisfaction, and Expedition buyers are comfort, not performance shoppers.

As other have stated ceramic are factory on these so there wont be any insurance issues like that.

Also keep in mind that most modern vehicles are engineered to have adequate stopping performance with ceramic pads and they do a good job. But swapping in semi-metalic pads are a world of difference better.

Success! I received all of the correct rotors. Didnt trust the little stickers and double checked direction that slots

I've never had any issues w ceramics stopping a vehicle....I've ran many sets over the years. Track, street, etc. I didn't really even give it a thought this time around. Just wanted some quality components that will stop and hopefully not have any issues with warping. I dont brake like an idiot, most of the time. I drive in fairly light traffic and aware I'm in a 3 ton vehicle that needs a few feet to come to a stop and plan ahead, trying to leave a few feet to roll to a final stop so sizzling hot pads arent just clamped down till the very end.

The previous owner had done the brakes the summer before I purchased my 03 and clearly needed to learn how to apply brakes. I've been dealing w a wobble/shake from them while braking for 17k, so glad they're ready to go.
