I have a 2012 Expy EL Limited, been doing some off-roading lately and decided that before my power running boards completely fail, I am going to remove them and replace them with something solid and stronger. Has anyone tried to install f150 running boards on an Expedition? What mods are needed?
I already installed Raptor wheels, and would like to keep the look going.. And before you tell me to just go buy a truck or something....I have a family of six and we all enjoy the outdoors. Not to many options on vehicles, plus I love my Expedition.

I literally logged in this morning to ask this very question.

I have a 2007 Limited with the fixed running boards...and I recently purchased a set of 2010 F150 running boards (pictured)
from a local guy getting rid of his.

The distance between the mounts looks the same, the only modification I might have to make is taking an inch or two off each side since they’re slightly longer.

I’m going to try to mount them and see if it’ll all work.

Depending on your budget and skills you could look into some legit rock sliders, especially if you offroad. There are fabrication shops that sell generic ones in a variety of lengths for not much money. Buy a set that's the right length, cut down the mounting legs to the right length to reach your frame, and get to welding.

It's more expensive and labor intensive but if done right they'll outlast the truck, can save your rockers from everything except rust, and will give you a jacking point for a hi-lift.
