I put new ones on last year from Wheel Adapters USA and they're already rusty. Does anyone have long-term results from the Gorillas?
My Gorilla's are 2 years old. 2014EL. Saltville USA. Some surface rust and you can see where the chrome is chipping off. Of course! chrome plating is a thin coat on top of nickel plating .. and these things are wrenched and banged around so I expected this. Still a whole lot better than the capped ones that you may not be able to remove someday. No coating will last forever, even the one on the wheel.

THIS is why they sell them with stainless steel caps, which don't rust.
You either get something that "looks good" for many years but eventually might fail catastrophically at the absolute wrong time OR you get something you can count on working when you need it, but it may start to exhibit cosmetic defects at some point. Your choice.

Took one of mine off and measured, 21mm or 13/16” wrench, 14x1.5 size, and overall length 1.6”. So the 1.4” size is too short. Low and behold, Gorilla now offers a “Factory style” for F150s that matches the stock dimensions, 61148CX. Ordered and should arrive in about a week. Will update after their arrival! Thanks!
Z4Mguy - Thanks for the info and the pics - where did you source the lug nuts? Thanks!

Ok, I’ve read the lug nut threads but have come away a bit confused. I have a 2017 XL Limited. The factory lug nuts are starting to swell and I want to replace them with something solid. What size do I need and where to order? Thanks!

I had a hell of a time getting the stock ones off my 2007 limited last year. A few of them I had to cut the chrome cap off and then find a 20mm socket (just TRY to find one of those at your local store) to remove the lug nut.

Sure am glad I didn’t wait until I had a flat tire or something. Those stock ones were toast.

Good call on replacing them!

When I put new tires on my 2015 it had the OEM style nuts that had swelled up, and Discount Tire sold me a set of Gorilla nuts and the tool for them. I have used McGaurd in the past which are on par with the Gorilla ones and they lasted without any issue. No rust or discoloring.

I got a set of these for my 2017 XLT from Discount Tire, I didn't get any locking nuts just the standard nuts.
