I recently bought a 2015 EL Limited. It came with 22" wheels which were stock when it was new. I hate hate hate low profile tires. Today I bought a set of 2020 Raptor 17" wheels. I'll probably run the 22" tires for another month or so and put the new Raptor wheels on with new tires just before winter starts kicking in.
I'm looking at these tires
Cooper
Discoverer AT3 LT
LT275 /70 R17
Has anyone made a similar change? if so, what tire recommendations do you have? Any other things that need to be considered?
The lug pattern, offset and the rim width is identical.
Also, running through a VIN decoder and looking at the tech specs of both a 2015 Expedition and comparing with a 2020 Raptor, the brakes rotors for the Expedition are smaller than the Raptors, so unless the calipers are enormously different in size I don't think that should be an issue.
