Hey all, new to fords and the forum. So a few years back I got the wife a 2009 ford expedition limited. 4x4 all stock. Got it with 48k miles. It now has just over 100k. She has it serviced at the local ford. Last time we took an hour trip I was driving and noticed on the interstate at 70 mph or so it felt like the brakes were being tapped every once in a while. I thought the cruise was just overactive. I shut the cruise off and it still does it. It feels just like you covered the brake with the gas pedal constant. Like a light brake check. It's getting worse now. The rpms dont seem to drop. Feels like the transmission to me. Anyone noticed this before?

Likely a misfire. Ignition coil or spark plug is very common. Do not wait to fix or the catalytic converter(s) may be damaged and are BIG money.

Water gets in those holes where the plugs are sometimes and causes that condition, it sounds like a miss to me too.

Ford did change the plugs in the last 6 months. My wife says it's getting worse. I guess I thought I'd see a change in rpms or a code thrown...I have no codes and the rpms are constant when it happens. She goes in for an oil change this week. I'll make sure she tells them. I service all my own vehicles but this one. Mainly because the wife works close to the dealership and most the time with promos I can't service it in the garage for what they are charging me.
