Rain (light), cold, Sunday, leaves changing color here in central VA.
We took a short (about 4 hrs.) trip. Filled up at a gas station just west of 288 on Rt. 60 and got some pumpkin spice coffee.
Drove out Rt. 60 to Rt. 15 and then turned north. Drove Rt. 15 up to Zion Crossroads and stopped at an Arby's to buy some food/iced tea/coffee.
To I64 east back to Rt. 288 and south on 288 to Rt. 10. Stopped and filled up the Expedition (2014) while the wife was in a Food Lion picking up some groceries.
Happy. 19.2 mpg. Still tickles me that a great big heavy/long/wide Ford Expedition gets better gas mileage than the Cherokee Sport (4.0 straight 6 with a 4 speeed automatic) the Expedition replaced.
Lots of small towns, old farms/buildings (sad to see so many old homes abandoned and falling down and old shops/businesses boarded up) and trees showing their fall colors.
Got a big hug and thank you kiss from the wife when we got back in the house.
