Hey Rick! Thanks for the Rant and the brew. I'll be happy to take you up on that but only if I can bring my Uncle Eddie. As for my windows... I'm still not sure if it's the motor or the regulator. Has anyone determined which is which that is causing the slow roll and irritating squeak? I watched that video and I don't have a cable crunching sound

Hello DRS1,

My name is Tricia and I’ll be here if you ever have any questions or concerns in the future.

I recommend making an appointment with your dealer and speaking with the service manager if your vehicle is experiencing any symptoms. He’ll be in the best position to look into this for you and can check into any warranty, assistance, recalls, or customer satisfaction programs that may apply to your vehicle.

I’d like to document your product feedback as well. Please PM your full name, VIN, dealer info, details of product concerns, and best contact number.

I’ll be sure that this is noted! :happy107:

Tricia... Just noticed this. Sorry for delay. I will PM with VIN number. Two dealers have said the same thing for 6 years upon seeing the first bubbles... Not part of warranty. Rust through only.. And their was no campaign to fix the galvanic corrosion. Don Hinds Ford, Fishers Indiana, and Tom Wood Ford Carmel said identical stories for years. So too have their body shops. The window regulator and motor issues is less important than having the rear door aluminum corrosion.

I suggest you and Firs fix all this. Otherwise this will all get out right when your are producing the all aluminum F150... For a decade Ford has not fixed the Expedition aluminum problems... So how does anyone know the new F150 will not be a massive corrosion problem? Once this perception of fear gets out, couple affect lowered 300k a year of production... And Ford stock will tumble.

I do appreciate your interest and possible help. Thanks.

Just ripped my doors apart this morning and sprayed them down with grease. They both work fine now and are pretty quick to get up and down with no squeak but let's see how long it lasts.

Today is October 30, 2020, I used WD40 with 1 sheet of paper towel and cleaned both driver front and passenger who were not going up on cold day and that worked like a charm. Also sprayed channel with the red straw that’s attached to can. Viola!

Do it yourself and it will cost very little. The parts, whether it be the motor or regulator, are not that expensive. It's the labor for tearing the doors apart. It's not that bad of a job. It's just tedious.

wondering the same thing but i guess will go order of least expensive to most…. Clean/relube > replace motor > Dorman 749-542 Regulator.
